"Cymbals’ second album, Mr. Noone Special, originally released in 2000, makes its vinyl debut. Building on the pop sensibility of their first album, this record evolves into a more soulful and mature sound. Featuring Asako Toki’s expressive vocals and Reiji Okii’s mellow, sophisticated compositions, it includes standout tracks such as 'Do You Believe In Magic' and 'Highway Star, Speed Star.' With its urbane, stylish sound and impeccable melodic sense, Mr. Noone Special is a defining work of Cymbals’ mid-period. An essential album for understanding Japanese pop from the late ’90s to early 2000s." - Kissing Fish Records
